Fort Smith, Ark. — The Fort Smith Regional Art Museum (RAM) is delighted to announce the opening of its much-anticipated Annual Invitational exhibition, "Our Common Ground," scheduled to debut in June. Since 1948, RAM has celebrated artistic excellence and fostered art appreciation with the RAM Annual Invitational. This year’s exhibition features over 100 artists from local, regional, and national backgrounds, all interpreting the theme "Our Common Ground" to explore and bridge cultural and geographical divides.

 

The public is invited to the opening reception on Friday, June 26, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, where they can immerse themselves in diverse artistic perspectives. Highlights include works by artists Robert Burridge, Jimmy Leach, Eloa Jane Pereira, Suzanne King, Rania Assadi, Jeanette Foreman and many more!  The evening will culminate with the announcement of the Annual Invitational awards. All artworks are for sale and support both the artists and the museum.

 

In conjunction with "Our Common Ground," RAM proudly presents "Inner Struggles," an exhibition featuring the creative works of students from Kinta Public Schools. This collection, also debuting on June 26, showcases a variety of media, including drawing, painting, and pottery.

 

Additionally, RAM introduces “Hope in Bloom,” an inspiring exhibition highlighting community resilience in the face of breast cancer. Women from the region have created unique floral canvases by imprinting their painted breasts onto 6 x 6” squares, forming a powerful collective artwork that celebrates strength and hope.

 

All three exhibitions promise an enriching experience for art enthusiasts and the broader community. Light refreshments will be provided at the free reception. The exhibitions will be open to the public until late October 2026.
