Great news for comic and anime fans in Eastern Oklahoma and Arkansas — Fort Smith Comic Con (FSCC) returns as announced by Chelsie Mayo, owner of Fort Smith Comic Con, LLC. Now entering its third year, FSCC has enlisted the management expertise of Fandom Events, which holds the largest number of independent comic and anime conventions in the United States.
“We’re so excited about this new opportunity to provide an even bigger and better experience to our fans in the region. Not only will we be able to bring in more celebrity guests and entertainers, but Fandom Events has hundreds of amazing artists, vendors, and cosplayers under their brand who will be thrilled to learn of a new opportunity for them here in Arkansas.”
Guests this year include a Brady Bunch Movie Reunion with Paul Sutera, Olivia Hack, and Jennifer Elise Cox. Mindy Sterling from the Austin Powers films and “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”. Matthew Sussman, who voiced Professor Elm, Meowth, and Professor Westood from Pokemon. Ken Lerner from Buffy the Vampire Slayer as Principal Flutie and roles on Happy Days and the Goldbergs. Marc Thompson, the voice of Casey Jones in TMNT and Megatron in Transformers. We’ll also have Ryan Drummond, the original English voice of Sonic The Hedgehog. And Anthony Salerno, Voice Actor, ADR Director and Scriptwriter with roles in Yu-Gi-Oh and Sonic the Hedgehog!
Mayo, who operates FSCC, said, “After year two concluded, I contacted Fandom Events to enlist their expertise; they are the most well-known and lauded event management company in the anime and comic convention circuit. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for 2024!”
Fans of FSCC will notice slightly updated branding, a new website, and an influx of new performances, such as the nation’s longest independently operated Japanese Maid Cafe, a live-action roleplay experience with padded weaponry, and a streamlined ticketing platform. When asked about additional improvements to the already popular event, Mayo replied, “You’ll just have to wait and see, but we can’t wait to show everyone!”
FSCC’s new website is http://www.FortSmithCC.com, and fans can browse the site for celebrity guest information, performers, cosplay guests, and scheduling information. Weekend Passes start at $37.04.
